On your US election journal, from everyone I talked to a lot of people voted on Trump because they felt he was the lesser evil. I don't know anyone who voted for him on the basis of entertainment. I know a lot of people regret their decisions, but I also know a lot of people even having voted for him would still not change their vote despite some of his boner moves. Some major nasty evidence has been coming out on Hilary about assassinations and illegal activity, and I feel a lot of people voted for someone they felt congress could put a rope on when needed and someone more trust worthy as well as financially smart. I think another contributing factor is democrats often overspend and put us into debt every year, and blame it on the republicans. If you go through the deficits by year, you can see the money swing highs and lows. I think people based this election on preventing a depression. I didn't vote, I chose not too because I think the system is broken anyway. Complicated for me to explain. Most Americans votes don't get tallied properly. In fact I found out I was illegally registered to vote. I got a message in the mail. I was so confused by it. It arrived during the re-election for Obama, and I did some tracking back and found out someone illegally voted for Obama under my name. So there isn't a lot of faith in the democratic/liberal party right now.
I tend to lean conservative but I'm more moderate and I like to remain independent, do research and form opinions based on facts. I also like to listen to others on politics and will change my opinion if someone gives me good evidence. I am a firm believer in not being ignorant or stubborn on a subject, but flexible and willing to learn. Not to be confused with the "mind so open the birds can shit in it" phrase people throw around. I hope this helps your research! I do know a lot of people during Obama voted so they wouldn't be accused of racism, and I was accused of racism for not voting at all. I honestly think this nation is so broken and there is so much parroting in political opinions, its become like unto the movie musical 1776 where the delegate from New York was asked why he always abstains. He essentially said "In New York, everyone is so busy arguing/shouting and not listening that a decision can never be made." I think this is the infection that has spread into the whole of the US and is a huge factor of a lot of our problems. No one wants to listen, their is no accountability for our own actions anymore, people would rather blame others, or take up a cause to rationalize things they do. Some take up ideals and causes for attention, or to fit in. We've become obsessed with our own vanity. A society reflecting poor values and misguided youth reflected in a mirror.

I hope that this doesn't offend anyone, I don't want to start a debate or anything since this is my opinion, and everyone has them, and they all stink!
